Oral Surgery | Atlanta GA

Once you have met with the doctor and discussed your treatment options at your consultation, your next appointment will most likely be a surgical appointment. Having any type of oral surgery, whether it be having teeth removed, a dental implant placed, or even cosmetic or corrective facial surgery, is a significant surgery procedure that affects your whole body. It will take your body several days to recover. We want your recovery from oral surgery to be as comfortable and rapid as possible.

Therefore, we have provided this step-by-step guide to help you care for yourself before and after surgery. We urge you to follow it carefully. Following these procedures can help you reduce your discomfort and promote rapid uncomplicated healing. For more information on specific services, and related post-operative care, please visit our Patient Education section.

Because we perform many of our surgeries under intravenous (IV) anesthesia, often called general anesthesia, pre-operative consultation and physical examination is mandatory prior to surgery. Please have nothing to eat or drink 8 hours prior to your surgery. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes with short sleeves. You MUST HAVE a companion to drive you home and stay with you after your surgery.

Please make sure to alert the office if you have any changes in your medications or health history prior to your surgery.

The portion of surgery charges agreed upon at your exam is due from you at the time of surgery. If you cannot make such a payment on the day of surgery, you need to call the office prior to your surgery to make alternative payment plans.

We appreciate the trust you have shown to us by selecting us to perform your surgery. We are committed to providing you with the best care possible and we welcome you to contact the office to discuss your concerns or questions about any aspect of your treatment.
