Biography
Dr. Sruthi Satishchandran was born and raised in a suburb outside of Philadelphia, PA. She has always had an interest in scientific research and patient- care and pursued her doctorate in dental medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. During this time, she participated in several clinical research projects and continued to develop her interest in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery. While in Pittsburgh, she participated in several community outreach events and obtained a certificate in academic teaching and mentorship. She graduated in the top 10% of her dental school class.
After graduation, she and her husband moved to Atlanta to complete a 1-year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Satishchandran was accepted at Emory University School of Medicine where she completed a 4-year residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Satishchandran has presented on multiple topics related to clinical oral and maxillofacial surgery during conferences such as the AAOMS Annual Meeting. She has published various articles in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (JOMS) including her latest research on the ‘Quality of Life after Open versus Closed Treatment of Condylar Fractures’. During her training at Emory, she had exposure to a broad scope of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery that included training in complex surgical extractions, implant placement and bone grafting, the management of medically complex patients, temporomandibular joint disorders, pathology, and extensive facial trauma.
Dr. Satishchandran is board-eligible and an active member of several professional organizations that include:

Dr. Satishchandran and her husband, Karunesh, reside in Atlanta, GA with their two children. Outside of work, Dr. Satishchandran enjoys traveling, kite flying with her daughter, exploring parks, walking trails, and restaurants around Atlanta.
