Biography
Dr. Dillard is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
After receiving his dental degree at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, he completed a 1 year internship and, subsequently, his hospital residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Temple University Health System in Philadelphia, PA. Here, he received extensive training in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery including dentoalveolar surgery and placement of dental implants, IV anesthesia, maxillofacial trauma, maxillofacial pathology, corrective/orthognathic jaw surgery, and management of temporomandibular disorders.
Throughout dental school and his residency program, Dr. Dillard served in various leadership positions, presented several lectures, and attended numerous continuing education programs. He also volunteered through the Mission of Mercy to provide care for underserved people in Maryland.
Dr. Dillard maintains certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). He is committed to safe, evidence-based practice centered around excellent patient care.
He and his wife Sarah reside in Atlanta with their new daughter, and dog Nellie. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling to new destinations, playing golf, and constantly learning new things.

I was concerned with the prospect of a tooth extraction that I felt was not necessary. A referral brought me to the Alpharetta office. The reception was fluid, courteous and very organized.
"Hight Tech" preliminaries were conducted inclusive of a detailed description of the entire process by the physician's assistant. Dr. Dillard was the attending physician presenting a very warm professional, personal detailed explanation of my situation, as well as a prospective necessity. As unpopular that dentist visits are, this visit was quite the contrary.
Dr. Dillard was very professional and very knowledgeable. Most importantly, he was honest with me, letting me know that a biopsy was not necessary. (Another oral surgeon, who did not accept my insurance, told me a biopsy was necessary.) Whenever I have an issue, I will always return to Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery, and I would never hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.
I can’t thank Dr. Dillard and his staff ENOUGH for their professionalism, bedside manner and support. I was referred to them after an unsuccessful attempt to get a tooth pulled by another dentist who knew I was nervous and anxious and had an active infection. That dentist then referred me to Dr. Dillard. I was skeptical at first because I just didn’t trust the referring dentist after the trauma she put me through. But Dr. Dillard listened to me, took pity on me and assured me that I was in the right hands. They even took my X-rays from another dentist office so that I wouldn’t have to pay more out of pocket to have them retaken. I highly recommend EVERYONE to get their oral surgery done by Dr. Dillard. The staff is awesome as well, from the front desk to the back-office staff. They even called me the next day to check on me post surgery unlike that other dentist office. I was so relieved that everything went so smoothly. God bless them all.
Dr Dillard was awesome. Very informative and walked us through the whole process of wisdom teeth extraction for our son. Front desk was friendly, and the rest of the staff was excellent as well. Highly recommend Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery!!
