Biography
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Kim is a dual-degree oral and maxillofacial surgeon with Ivy League training and a deep commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Born in South Korea and raised in Gwinnett County, he has proudly called Georgia home for over 20 years.
He graduated first in his class in Bioengineering (Biotech) at UC San Diego and earned his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. Dr. Kim completed his medical degree, general surgery internship, and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Louisiana State University—one of the nation’s top programs—where he ranked in the top 1% nationally on the OMSITE exam and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
In addition to his extensive surgical training, Dr. Kim is also a diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He has authored numerous scientific publications and a chapter in the Atlas of Operative Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a textbook used in OMFS training worldwide. Before returning to Georgia, he also ran successful oral surgery business serving underserved communities in Louisiana and Texas.
Today, Dr. Kim is proud to serve patients in his hometown of Atlanta, offering a full scope of surgical services—including wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, and jaw surgery—with a focus on clinical excellence, safety, and personalized care.
Dr. Kim practices out of the Gainesville Office and the Sugarloaf Office.
