Biography
Dr. Jorge Gonzalez is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and fellowship-trained in facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
He was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) with a double major in Natural Sciences and Music Piano Performance, graduating summa cum laude. Shortly after, he was accepted to the Medical Sciences Campus of UPR School of Dental Medicine where he obtained his doctorate in dental medicine (D.M.D.) graduating top of his class. Dr. Gonzalez was awarded the Certificate of Achievement in Recognition of Scholastic Excellence at the School of Dental Medicine, UPR presented by Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Dental Honor Society and the Dental Student Award presented by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
He then moved to Augusta, Georgia to complete a 1-year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Gonzalez was accepted to Augusta University Medical Center (former Medical College of Georgia) where he completed a 4-year residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He then moved to Atlanta, GA where he completed a 1-year AACS (American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery) accredited Fellowship in Facial Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery. The additional year of post residency training enhanced his skills in specialized aspects of maxillofacial surgery including cosmetic facial surgery, microneurosurgery (nerve repair), and reconstructive jaw surgery.
Dr. Gonzalez has presented on multiple topics related to oral and maxillofacial surgery during conferences such as The Hinman Dental Meeting and the AAOMS Annual Meeting. He has published different articles in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (JOMS) including his latest research in tooth autotransplantation using platelet rich plasma (PRP). Dr. Gonzalez is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as an active member of several professional organizations that include:

He resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife, enjoys playing the piano, basketball, and golf.

I'm not good at writing....but I can't say enough about the incredible experience I have had at this office...from the front desk to billing to the Technicians/nursing staff and most of all Dr. Gonzalez who has gone above and beyond for me with my broken front tooth...I only wish I could go here for all my dental needs and not just for oral surgery....keep up the good work and I love you all for making a bad situation an incredible experience! Dr. Gonzalez removed a wisdom tooth and two molars on the left side of my mouth, I was done before I knew it no pain at all. Dr. Gonzalez has a wonderful way of making you feel at ease as all in his office the same as well. I would definitely return there for my dental needs. Dr. Gonzalez called me the next day to see how I was doing that was really special never had that type of concern before.
Dr. Gonzalez was awesome!! He made me feel very comfortable and relaxed about my procedure because I’m never had any surgeries and I’ve never met. The way he explained everything about the surgery and the recovery made me feel a lot better and a lot less nervous. I would definitely recommend Dr. Gonzalez !!!
Dr. Gonzalez was amazing!! He is very sweet, gentle, and caring, during the consultation and for the procedure of removing my wisdom teeth. I was extremely nervous and he put me at ease. And, what also amazed me was, he called me later that night to see how I was doing. That's a doctor who cares!!! Thank you very much Dr. Gonzalez!!!! You are very much appreciated!!!
