Lee M. Whitesides, DMD, MMSc

Dr. Lee M. Whitesides grew up in the foothills of North Carolina. After graduating from Davidson College in 1984, Dr. Whitesides enrolled in the Masters in Medical Science in Anesthesia program at Emory University. Upon completion of his Masters, he worked as a physician's assistant in anesthesia at Crawford W. Long Hospital in Atlanta. In 1988, Dr. Whitesides entered the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. After graduation from dental school, Dr. Whitesides moved to Brooklyn, New York to enter a general practice residency program at Maimonides Medical Center. From Brooklyn, Dr. Whitesides moved to Baltimore, MD, to study Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Systems.

Dr. Whitesides joined the Atlanta Oral and Facial Surgery in 1997. Since then he has practiced the full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also sub-specializes in the new and exciting field of Distraction Osteogenesis.
