| Harvey Silverman, DDS, MS
Dr. Harvey Silverman grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. He received his undergraduate education at Old Dominion University earning a B.S. degree in Biology. While at Old Dominion University, he was a member of the wrestling team for four years. Between college and dental school, he was the wrestling coach at Norfolk Catholic High School. He obtained his dental education at The Medical College of Virginia and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1968. Following dental school, Dr. Silverman entered the military with the Navy assigned to the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. After fulfilling his military service, he completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Sinai Hospital of Detroit. He also graduated from Wayne State University Medical School with a Masters Degree in Physiology.
In 1974, Dr. Silverman and his family moved to Atlanta and joined Georgia Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery where he was a partner for over twenty-five years.
Dr. Silverman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery being certified in 1975. He is a past president of the Georgia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Medical Staff of Decatur Hospital. He is a member of many local and national dental organizations. He is an Honorable Fellow of the Georgia Dental Association and received The Presidents Award from the Georgia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Silverman's clinical interests include orthognathic and reconstructive jaw surgery, head and neck pathology, dental implant surgery, and the surgical management of impacted teeth. For the comfort of his patients, Dr. Silverman is very interested in anesthesia and pain control services.
Dr. Silverman and his wife Judy have lived in the Atlanta area for over thirty years. They have two daughters and two wonderful grandchildren. When away from work, Dr. Silverman enjoys motorcycles, physical fitness and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Dr. Silverman joined Atlanta Oral and Facial Surgery in June of 2004.
