Dr. Meyer, a native of Washington state, received his DDS from the University of Washington School of Dentistry, Seattle, and the MD degree from Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska. He served residencies in general surgery at the University of Vermont Medical Center, Burlington, and in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Washington Affiliated Hospitals, Seattle.

      Dr. Meyer was Chairman of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Emory University Schools of Dentistry and Medicine, Atlanta, for seven years. He joined Atlanta Oral and Facial Surgery in 1986. Dr. Meyer is a Diplomate, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a Fellow, American College of Surgeons (FACS).

      A frequent speaker at professional meetings, Dr. Meyer has authored numerous book chapters and scientific articles for professional journals on his areas of expertise including microsurgical repair of nerve injuries, temporomandibular joint open surgery and arthroscopy, and orthognathic, cleft palate and craniofacial surgery. He is married, has three children and one grandchild, and resides in Smyrna, Georgia.
